Teaching Garden

Harvest Day December 2 - Chef Bob from Farm Fresh will be joining us during lunch to hand out yummy samples of two vegetables dishes! These dishes use vegetables that we are growing in our Teaching Garden and will show students that healthy food can taste good!

Rosemont is the proud recipient of a Teaching Garden sponsored by Farm Fresh and the American Heart Association. The garden has transformed a once unused courtyard into an exciting teaching tool. Rosemont is ready to harvest their fall crop of vegetables. Students have been following the growth of the vegetables and investigating the destruction of some of our plants by caterpillars. It is not uncommon to see a group of iPad weiling students, taking pictures and making scientific observations in our Teaching Garden.

iPads at Rosemont

Students at Rosemont are taking full advantage of the iPads in each classroom. Teachers are using the iPads in center instruction as well as whole class assignments. It is not unusual to see students walking the halls with iPads taking pictures or scanning QR codes. Teachers are integrating our new iPad technology with gusto and enthusiasm!
